Scopeing Your AIr Ducts
What is an Air Duct Scope? This is when the home inspector uses a video inspection camera to inspect the interior condition of your heating and cooling ductwork. The inspector will use the camera to take pictures and document any observations.
Why should I get an Air Duct Scope? Over the years dust, dirt, and debris can collect in your vents. This can reduce indoor air quality, lead to less efficient heating and cooling systems, and create a dusty home that leads to you cleaning more often. Scoping your air ducts can help you determine if your in need of a clean, have debris and toys in your ductwork, or even have damaged ductwork.
Homes with crawlspaces often have ductwork that can not be seen due to limited access. Scoping the air ducts is a great way to determine if ductwork is loose or disconnected in those limited crawlspace areas.
How much does an Air Duct Scope cost? The cost to scope your air ducts is $50.00 (main floor only). (This inspection can be added onto your home inspection and is limited to the main floor of the house only. No vertical ductwork will be scoped.)
